Its summer now!!!!!!!!
I haven't done much this summer at all.
I'm a nanny for a family friend and I joined a dance company so my days are spent with a 7 year old and my nights are spent dancing.
BUT I finally got to go out of town and go to church camp!!!
I go to Falls Creek in Davis, Oklahoma about every summer. (Last summer I went twice...guess I'm a better Christian than you....)
Falls creek is a HUUUUUGE baptist Christian camp. I've been to Falls creek 4 times now and I'm not baptist. lol. (nothing against baptist, (obviously) I just consider myself nondenominational) About 5,000 different campers come EACH week and fill the place.
This week our speaker was Stuart Henslee and he was awesome!!! I'll definitely be blogging some of his messages on this blog. (hopefully not two months after this post) This post is just to share some funny pictures and the overall experience I had.
Every time I have gone to Falls Creek I have been dealing with some certain issues, whether it be with my family, friends, or faith. This year, I was a okay. (woot woot!!!) My goal for the week was to just learn more about God and to grow closer to him.
On Wednesday night, my in cabin pastor asked us what God had been showing us, and what he'd been doing in our lives that week. I thought to myself, "I don't think I've realized anything about me." It kind of put me in a bad mood, because I thought I was doing something wrong.
The next day I got sick at camp. (Funny story actually) and it left me a lot of time to think while laying on a plastic mattress.
I realized I don't have to be in a crisis for God to talk to be/fix me/show me things. I remembered my ultimate goal that week was just to know God more. And I did. The sermons were great and opened my eyes to see that I have things I need to change. I learned more about Christ and what it means to be a Christian (which by the way ISN'T just saying the prayer and becoming saved)
