I woke up a couple Saturdays ago with no intention of asking Trey on that exact day, but for some reason I decided I better do it then or someone would beat me to it.
After my friend Sara and I spent too long on Pinterest, we decided that spelling snowball out in pumpkins would be the easiest cutest thing we could do. So off we went to walmart to buy 9 pumpkins. We got looked at weirdly. It took us so long to carve them, and one was rotten. Ugh so gross.
Throughout this whole process I'm texting Trey's mom so I wouldn't be there when he wasn't. He was supposed to arrive home around 8 to see me in his front lawn asking him to snowball. It was almost 9 and he still wasn't home, and Sara and I were getting antsy. We decided to go to our friend Hannah's house until it was time. We loaded up the stuff and right as we got in the car his mom texted us, "He's on his way home!!"
Hashtag ninja mode. Luckily, Trey lives only about 5 minutes away. Sara and I get there, I grab about 4 pumpkins and hobble up (I had a boot on my left foot) to his front porch, to see he is SITTING IN THE DRIVE WAY IN A CAR. Abort mission!!!!!
I stuff Sara and the pumpkins back into my car and turn all the lights off and lay our seats completely flat so he can't see us. We figured he'd go inside in about 5, 10 minutes, right?? Wrong. 15 minutes later we decided we should just leave and come back later. So, I drive off. (My seat still completely flat down until we passed his house...couldn't risk the surprise..)
We finally ended up at Hannah's house to get a text from his mom saying, "Okay, it should be clear now." I drive across town to drop Sara off (curfew probz) and drive to his house now with Hannah.
But guess what.
HE WAS STILL THERE. STILL IN THE DRIVE WAY. And, there was a COP conveniently near by so speeding wasn't an option. Oh oh, and also, when I drove by his house the second time we made eye contact. Lol hey Trey...I stopped in front of my mom's friend's house down the street and died a little more inside.
FINALLY, his mother said "The coast REALLY is clear this time." Don't worry, it really was clear. But wait there's more.
We get there to realize Sara had the LIGHTER. A lighter we NEEDED to LIGHT the candles. So I call my mom. (Good thing we live close) (She comes in time, don't worry)
In the midst of the panicky pumpkin preparations, my friend Micah shows up out of nowhere and throws a mcchicken at me. I don't know why it happened, but I still laugh every time I think of it.
In the end Trey did say yes. And the following Monday I ran my car into a garage, so I guess we're even now.
